There is a timer on the flange that is accompanied by the second hand that manages the measurement of short times. In the center, two lancine-type hands, silver or gold, point to luminescent hour markers and Arabic numerals. The small seconds are indicated at 9 o’clock and the minute and hour chronograph indicators are located at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively. The dial features a center decorated with a Clous de Paris guilloche pattern on which are placed three azure counters. It houses the F-392 caliber, an automatic movement running on 4hz, delivering 55 hours of power reserve when fully wound, 9 hours more than the previous models. Measuring 42mm in diameter, the case is water-resistant to 50m and is made of polished steel or plated in rose gold.

This is the color Frédérique Constant selected to embellish the face of a new duo of Runabout Chronograph Automatic watches, two references available in 888 watches each. Like blue, for example, borrowed from the ocean world, it immediately conjures up images of a calm sea, lulling waves and, why not, a beach to lounge on. Nature offers such beautiful, pure, and intense colors, it provides an infinite source of inspiration. Through it, fans of watchmaking will be able to appreciate the FC-392 calibre in detail, ticking at 28,800 beats / hour (4 Hz), complete with a gold coloured oscillating weight.Įach watch will be presented in a special case with a miniature replica of the legendary Riva moored alongside it.AT THE OCEAN’S EDGE A timeless color, navy blue, evoking the ocean’s waves, is the ideal hue for the dials of two new limited-edition chronographs from the Geneva-based brand. Housed in a 42 mm steel case, the two new Runabout RHS Chronograph Automatic models share a tricompax chronograph (12 o’clock – 6 o’clock – 9 o’clock) powered by the automatic FC-392 calibre, ensuring a power reserve of 46 hours. From 1962, it produced certain models with a powerful motor (2 x 185 bhp) for enjoying the heady exhilaration of water sports on Lake Iseo, birthplace of the Riva. The 2020 collaboration will see the return of a complication that hasn’t been available for some years: the chronograph. Borrowing certain hallmarks relating to yachting and escapism, the “Runabout” line expresses the fine craftsmanship and luxury common to both enterprises and their creations. Each piece draws inspiration from Riva’s heritage, imagery and universe.

This year, Frederique Constant is introducing its new Runabout RHS Chronograph Automatic model in honour of this collaboration and available in two limited series each composed of 2,888 pieces. The Riva Historical Society preserves the famous Riva, the legendary yacht that embodies the easy-going Italian way of life from the 20s to the 60s. The Frederique Constant Runabout collection is a culmination of a prestigious partnership between the Swiss watch making company and Riva Historical Society.
